I have been very busy downloading all the MP4's unto flash drives, so that the Youth Sunday School and YM/YW can show the videos with their lessons. It has been a long process, but was wonderful when the YW teacher had both video clips she needed for last weeks lesson. Our building needed to purchase the media player and a few flashdrives (see tech.lds.org) to show the mp4s on their TV's.
I wondered what all the other librarians were doing for the sudden change in the youth lessons. There was a tech forum on January 4th, 2013, which walked me through what we needed to do to help the teachers have the equipment and videos needed. this is the link: http://tech.lds.org/blog/552-getting-digital-media-into-meetinghouses
I noticed the gospel doctrine lessons on the church website have the pictures and videos to use with the lesson in the right side bar. Perhaps someone will do the same for the Primary lessons shortly.
I obtained the outdated computer and monitor from the clerk's office, (the clerk's office recieves a new computer every 5 years, I was able to obtain the old one after it was wiped clean) and then taught our Primary teachers how to find the 'learning resources' for their primary classes. it is at: https://www.lds.org/children/resources?lang=eng
It is wonderful that we have 40 years of 'the friend' activities, stories and colouring pages for the teachers to use as a resource for their lessons. The building's physical facilites person was a great help with setting the computer up to the printer, which allows all members to search for a teaching aid on the computer, and then print it off.
For Sunday a teacher requested a MP4 video from Mormon Messages for Youth; I was able to download it unto a library flashdrive, and have it ready for her to show in her lesson.
